Vaclav Brazda, Prof., Ph.D., Institute of Biophysics, Czech Academy of Sciences. He receiving Ph.D. degree (2001) and habilitation in Molecular Biology and Genetic, Faculty of Science Masaryk University, Brno, CZ (2016). His research topics are focused on relationship between DNA structure and function, interaction of proteins with DNA, local DNA structures and DNA damage, p53 protein and carcinogenesis, bioinformatics, immunology and neurodegeneration. He has published more than 50 research articles (63 records at WoS; 926 citacions, h-index 20). He was awarded byseveral national and international awards, e.g. Czech Society for Biochemistry and Molecular biology Award for significant scientific contribution in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology (2002), Otto Wichterle Award of Academy of Sciences CR for excellent results) (2006), International Society for Neurochemistry Investigator Travel Award (2013) and The Royal Society of Edinburgh - International Awards programme (2018). He worked at the University Health Network, Ontario Cancer Institute, Toronto, Kanada (2005-2006).
