Ildiko Matusikova is an associate professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of SS. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Slovakia. He has a long-standing interest in the molecular responses of plants to environmental stresses. She focuses on the action of selected groups of defence proteins, especially chitinases and β-1,3-glucanases, in the response of plants to external environmental stimuli, but also in normal morpho-physiological processes. Her research has also confirmed the action of these enzymes in plant carnivory syndrome. She is the author of more than 60 scientific publications.
